Form
A form is a web page that allows users to view or enter information in fields.
A collection of forms make up a document, that can be tracked. For example, when an applicant accesses a form that is part of a document, a new document is created for that applicant in the "un-submitted" state. Once all required forms are completed and the applicant submits the application, the document is changed to the "submitted" state.
Forms can be configured to look as required for each application. They are considered a window to the database as they control what a particular user can see.
There are two types of forms:
Basic
Visual
The only difference between the two is how they are created and how their layout is controlled. However, they are functionally identical.
Basic forms are automatically created by the system after the user defines the entries (no HTML programming is required).
Visual forms, on the other hand, are created using a WYSIWIG (what you see is what you get)drag and drop system.
Access to forms can be configured based on a user type.
"Pages" of an Application
Each "page" of an application would normally consist of a small subset of fields that are used for a specific purpose (e.g., Essay Review).
